Alfonso Paoletti war Erzbischof von Bologna und verantwortlich für den Wiederaufbau der Kathedrale San Pietro in Bologna, die im Jahre 1599 eingestürzt war und 1605 neu geweiht wurde. Die vorliegende Medaille dürfte wohl in diesem Zusammenhang stehen. Alfonso Paoletti was Archbishop of Bologna and responsible for the reconstruction of the Cathedral of San Pietro in Bologna, which had collapsed in 1599 and was re-consecrated in 1605. This medal is probably related to this event.
