Description
Bronze um 215 - 205 v. Chr., unbestimmte Münzstätte, wohl in Bruttium (Cales?). 6.52 g. Bekränzter Kopf der Tanit nach links, darunter Stern. Rv. Stehendes Pferd nach rechts. 22 mm. SNG Copenhagen (dort unter Afrika) vgl. 375. HN Italy vgl. 436. Selten / Rare. Schön-sehr schön / Fine-Very fine.
Es handelt sich hier wohl um eine "Notprägung" im Rahmen des Zweiten Punischen Kriegs (218 - 201 v. Chr.). Bei dem Beizeichen hinter dem Kopf der Tanit dürfte es sich um noch sichtbare Reste einer überprägten lokalen Münze handeln. Zuweisung unsicher.
