Bronzegussplakette o. J. (um 1573), unsigniert (Süddeutscher Meister AZ). 360.88 g. Darstellung des Hephaistos/Vulcanus mit Aphrodite/Venus in der Schmiede. Einseitig: An Amboss sitzender Hephaistos/Vulcanus nach rechts, zusammen mit drei Gehilfen beim Schmieden, links dahinter die Esse, rechts zusammen mit Amor/Cupido stehende Aphrodite/Venus nach links, im Hintergrund Stadtlandschaft mit Fluß, vielleicht Rom darstellend. Queroval, ca. 143 x 118 mm. Weber vgl. 475. Alter Guss / Old cast. Vorzüglich / Extremely fine. Avers altvergoldet / Front gilt.
Die Darstellung folgt einem Ölgemälde des Malers Maarten van Heemskerck von 1536, das durch einem Stich von Cornelius Bos aus dem Jahre 1546 weitere Verbreitung fand.
