Die Strategie umfaßte das Rhodope-Gebirge zwischen Griechenland und Bulgarien (vgl. TIB 6, 427 f.) mit der Hauptstadt Traianopolis (vgl. TIB 6, 482 ff.). Bisher ist nur ein Strategos von Traianopolis bezeugt, Nikolaos, Protospatharios (SBS 2, 1990, 233 f.). Niketas fungierte als Strategos-Stellvertreter.
